The See it SAFE Antimicrobial Pillow Protector is one of very few pillow protectors available that actually kills dust mites within minutes.  It’s not just a barrier, like most other products, that prevents dust mites and their allergens from passing through the fabric.

Another use for this fabric is for surgical gowns in operating theatres. These are washed hundreds of times and last many years. When the fluid resistance falls below the level required for theatres, they are still fluid repellent enough to be repurposed for use as a protective gown in other areas of the hospital or laundry because the fabric lasts for many many years without breaking down. The fabric is also oil resistant, so make-up etc. will wash out easily without pre-washing or stain removers.

The fabric is made from 98% surgical grade polyester and 2% X-static fibre which has pure silver permanently bonded to it, which provides 100% antimicrobial coverage through the entire body of the fabric.

See it SAFE fabrics are proven through testing to exceed ASTM, EN, ISO and AS/NZ standards and are used worldwide in many hospitals for surgical gowns, scrub suits, privacy curtains and shower curtains due to their efficacy and safety.

 

When comparing other bed linen that says it is anti dust mite, bear in mind that 90% of products out there do not kill dust mites! They simply provide a barrier to stop dust mites, and sometimes their droppings, from passing through the fabric. This is often done with a PU coating on the back of the fabric. Ours does not have a PU coating.

Some are cotton, which may start-off being very tightly woven, but cotton degrades with every wash and also produces lint during use. Therefore it will decrease in weight after every wash as the fibres gradually thin and the weave opens up. This will, depending upon how often you wash your bedding, eventually allow dust mites and their droppings to pass through.

Our fabrics are continuous-filament lint-free microfibres which will retain their construction and properties for many many years of regular washing. I know, we wash our See it SAFE pillow protectors every week and they have lasted well over 10 years so far.
